Bleeding Roses
A Poem by
Shayla Sayer
the flower bleeds
life is dripping
from its stem
but--my hand
grips it tighter
tighter
crushing all hope
of recovery.
the flower bleeds
i hand the flower to him
my lover smiles
but inside he dies...
i am the cause
of his destruction.
the flower dies
wilting
i smile--
this is the only thing
that im good at...
death
and destruction.

This is a powerful piece...and beautiful as well! I love your word choice as it builds the emotion up; increases it...wonderful job! = ]

Great comparrison. Powerful imagery. I like how you used very little wording and still got a strong message across.

Ooh, Ouch. Wouldn't want to be the lover in this poem, but perhaps he deserved what he got. Perhaps?
Good, interesting and provocative

i love to write. i have been penning down my feelings since i was 13. in my own opinion, writing is sort of like love and wine--it only gets better with age.
