Betrayal

This poem showcases the emotions of a person who is betrayed by the people whom he/she trusts the most.

Betrayal

Everything was a lie,
All the promises we made…
All the amazing stuff we did…,
With your masks on your faces,
Purely fake,
Your presence, the laughter that
resonated in my life…
Was also the only medicine that
Poisoned it…,

Trapped between people,
Torn between thoughts,
Some mine…. some yours…..,

So, I’m going to let go,
But I want you to know,
That you were the only one for whom I cared,
And I was scared….

Because everything we did,
The promises we made,
The things that we shared,
Was nothing but a lie….

This reminds me of several events in my life where I was betrayed by people I thought I could call my friends. This poem made me sad, but also relieved that I'm not the only one who's dealt with that kind of pain. This poem brought back a lot of forgotten memories for me, and it made me realize everything that's happened to bring me to where I am today.
