Prologue

A good while ago, someone killed God.  To the normal human this wouldn’t have impacted their life more than finding out their alarm clock was set a couple minutes early.  But to the heavens and underworld alike there was an upheaval of power between who should be ruler of the cosmos.  Heaven demanded the one responsible for God’s death be found, and the blame fell to Lucifer, the fallen angel.  Although he claimed innocence, he did discover that when a god dies they are reincarnated into a human’s body, to live out that human’s life as though they were in a coma.  Once the human dies from natural causes (or at least from non-deity sources) they will transcend to Heaven once more.  Thus, both Heaven and Hell watch the world, waiting for the one bearing God to be born and die.

A warning to anyone who's overly religious- I'm thinking you won't like this story. I wasn't trying to offend anyone when I wrote this, so despite what you think this isn't an attack and I mean no harm. Otherwise, please enjoy.

I understand how this can offend some people, I'm glad that you used God instead of substituting him to something as simple as a being called "The Creator" as I do often. This sounds really interesting though, I hope you wrote this better than you already have, and this was plain amazing.
