Destroying Me

Sorry if you can't understand it XD My mind was all over the place :P

Caught in my throat

It continues burning me raw

How much more will I suffer

No one is without flaw

 

Surrounded by darkness

Demons come out to play

Shaking hands continue digging

The rotting grave I’ll fall into one day

 

How much have I given

How much more will they take

Why can’t I create distance

With this bad dream that stays even after I wake

 

A guilty conscious causes insanity

And maybe I’ve already crossed the line

Of all the people at this masquerade

Why have I taken the poisoned wine

 

I have given my soul to a devil

That I can guarantee

All for selfish desires

A love that’s destroying me

I don't understand how this is reviewed, but nothing is said. I like it. I like it because even though the internet provides this awkward "buffer" to never really reveal who we are, there is this peek into sanity and emotion we can't escape when reading a poem like THIS one. I wrote a poem when I was 11, called "Divine Path" on my poem list, and I actually speak the same way and almost have a bit of the angel/devil syndrome trying to figure things out as this poem seems to lend feeling to.
