well this goes out to a dear friend of mine..i owe him a lot for what he has given me :)

They say love is a gift
But for me it’s a curse
And the fact that it won’t leave me alone
Is only making me feel worse

I fell for a boy
Who was only going to break my heart
And when he did
My whole world fell apart

I tried picking myself
And pretend it didn’t hurt
Smiled like it was nothing
But with you, my mask didn’t work

You saw through it and carried me until I could stand
You helped repair my broken and fragile wings
You accepted that I couldn’t yet love you
But I want to thank you for so many things

First off, for being there
And understanding that I need time to heal
For giving me a piece of happiness
An emotion I had forgotten how to feel

Thank you for everything
For being my courageous knight
But most of all, thank you
For returning my candles firelight
