The Island

Poem about a boy and a girl on an island. The inspiration came upon me after seeing this beachposter at the train station

On the sand on which they lay
he grabbed a stick and wrote her name
and she smiled and then he smiled too
both thinking about dreams to pursue

on an island far from life
with lovely beaches, trees and wildlife
he thought about what they'd became
and then she told him not to

and they were happy as they listened
to the waves that came rolling in
over the sand her name was written in
she thought about who'd be there to blame
and then he told her not to

on these shores they forgot their worries
on the sand on which they lay
they fell asleep and dreamed away
about eachother and their qualities
because I told them it was good to.
