I stand

I stand, no movement, no air.
Day then night, then day again.
I watch things grow, I watch things wilt.
Watching the world change, I feel no guilt.
The sky goes white, snow falls unto earth.
Months go by, the snow turns to water.
I stand, no movement, no air.
The world is changing, isn't that fair?
A little boy is born, breathing his first breath.
Suddenly he's 90 his next breath is his last.
I saw his life go by growing older every day,
"I'm proud of you" I couldn't say.
I stand, no movement, no air.

The world is born, the world is gone,
I watched it come, I watched it go.
Nothing left for me to say,
