Never Forget

 

 

 

 

I will never forget

Nor regret

These moments in life

That leaves us dripping wet

With these emotions

that rouse up

our souls

Fill us up

 and make us whole.

 

- Moments

 that will forever mean so much

Those from which my soul

 will forever feel thier touch.

the first time

 I felt his hands upon my waste

the  sweet syrupy way

his lips would always taste

the devastating pain

i felt

after learning

he didn’t love me  anymore

or the triumph

inside

when

I finally had the courage

to walk out that door

 

- these inescapable heart aches

these unavoidable  mistakes

and not knowing what life

is going

to give or take

 

being left

by loved ones

 you  never thought

could say goodbye

being hurt by those

you never thought

would tell a lie

learning that it’s possible

to fall in love again

realizing these pains

did not mean my happiness

had finally met its end

 

 

dealing with the guilt

of breaking a past lovers heart

knowing now

I was responsible

for tearing

their world apart

learning how ugly

most people can truly be

and finding that most

are never

who they at first appear to be.

 

The irony

that can sometimes

 makes us laugh  or  cry.

these moments in life

that so quickly

come to

pass us by

 

- and so

from all that i have come to know

the good and the bad

the sweet and the sour

even though

some of it

may have hurt me so

I will never forget

nor regret

 how it all

has helped me to grow

and so

- to all of this

I will  never let go

I can't believe no one has reviewed this little gem of realizing that all things are meant to happen and all things make us who we are. You have a way with words when writing our poetry, it just flows, I can even hear you saying it like it is naturally rolling off your tongue. I think you would do well in a poetry slam.

When one learns that even if their heart breaks it will hill and love again, this knowledge frees you to be more daring in love. To take bigger chances to give more of yourself. Love absolutely requires we give everything or we will not find a true love but instead a false one.
