A momento of a moment

A bit of Fun :) All of those with fair skin will understand :p

The sun shone today

like no other 

of which I can remember at least

the touch of warmth embraced me

however I recoiled

in unfamiliarity 

for such skin like mine

has not seen the light of day

in quite some time

Like I said 

It was blazing this morning 

and everything was sharp 

as if My eyes were a camera lens 

such detail in itself 

a different kind of beauty

and as every sight had a smell

foliage of different varieties 

the heat augmenting their fragrance 

My bones are warmed up now 

regaining their strength

soaking in life to the very marrow 

but not to the skin

oh no, that is paler than 

the moon 

after all "Rome was not built in a day"

Even colloquially, I'd like you to begin stanza 2 with "As" rather than "Like"
The poor adverb gets no respect. :-) And you might find a bit better alternative
than the cliché at the close.
