Oh Puppy My Puppy

Children's Poetry Anyone?

Oh puppy my puppy

my soldier my friend

insisting at night 

to drive me round the bend

your barking's impressive 

not even our neighbors can deny 

but why for no reason 

when I'm asleep do you cry? 

 

You have been to the toilet 

you've had plenty to eat 

we've played and had cuddles

and you've had more than one treat!!!

I am out of ideas 

why am I awake?

when it's four in the morning

and my life's not at stake!

Barking and howling 

and whining and whinging

itching an itch that 

so obviously isn't itching

You've licked at my face

I cannot feel my lips 

muscles begin to cramp 

and locked are my hips...

But I do adore you 

my puppy my friend 

the bond that we share 

will last 'til the end

However you need your sleep

just as much as I do 

get under the cover 

come on pup let's snooze....

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I would love to see if illustrated especially if you are thinking for kids. Visuals would make this soar. But having a pupper of my own I can relate to this and it brought a warmth to me. Makes me want to go grab her Frisbee and play. Thanks for sharing!

Not a change per say I just wasn't sure if it was supposed to be whining and whining, instead of whining and whinging. Seemed like the second one is misspelled unless whinging is something I am unaware of.

whinging is exactly the same as whining. two different words to convey the same thing :)
