To fall upon an ear

To race past an eye

To spend your time well

One can only try

 

Peace is what some want

To this they build their shrines

I, however, let the carbon flow

For a little piece of mind

Peace of mind? Piece? A piece of the mind? or peace? I don't get "a little piece of mind. Please enlighten me, friend. I get that you used "piece" twice. It must be purposed. What does that add to your subject matter and theme as a whole. Very theoretical, conceptual, and abstract, to say the least. Mood is very nonconcrete, which I don't really like for such a short thing. It's very detached, which does work here. It rarely works for me in something so small and neat. It's recondite and pretty obscure. Iono....

piece of mind is a play off of the well known phrase peace of mind. this one describes one of the reasons why i write, to provoke some sort of thought or something. for, in essence, a piece of the readers' minds.
