i find pieces of you
letters left in
little liquor bottles

dated after i thought
you had given up 
the habit

it takes a few bottles, blows
to really find out how
quickly our hearts can heal

have come to find you waiting here
an apparition of who we used to be
an aberration for how sickly
i thought I knew you to death

and i did,
oh how i did

even on another plane 
you still manage to shock me
