i couldnt be bothered to mature

id love to see you again
when im not thinking
its a good time to forget
ive cared so much
imagined it all
and when i had the chance
i didnt show

we traded worlds in a way
and that was long ago
the only thing my hand would take up
was visions of you
yeah and theyve moved on to other things
lastin
five to six years, or more

yet every time
im lookin’ at things i ought not to be
im sunk in past traumas
but youre at my side
but not really
because that’s what you were for
and at the time i couldnt be bothered
to mature
