A friend is someone that you can turn to
Who is always there, when all else fails
Not judgmental - but true and soft
A shelter from the rain in stormy weather
Passioned and kind, honest and firm
With ears and heart that are always open
Always ready to listen - ready to  love
And to help you plot your course
In times of doubt
A friend is someone who needs a friend
Who craves that special person
To return the favors- and return the love
Intuitive and watchful, patient and calm
Vigilant in eye and caring in soul
To give with generosity
And to receive with open arms- tender hands
A friend can be- and should be
Love
