You think you know me

You have me all figured out

Through the words you read

My words

 

You conjure up an image

Who you believe me to be

A judgmental perspective of me

My life

 

You may not know as much as you think

For no one really knows

What I have locked in my heart

My secrets

 

You wonder what I am keeping from you

What I won’t reveal in my writing

Why I am scared to share with you

Some people do not know themselves to tell anyway...and being organic...all too human...what one is on one day may not necessarily be true the next...we are a fickle species...and I pay less regard of what one says compared to what they do...actions are the revelatory cliche that defines us...that having been said...this poem inspired me to think...which is entirely a good thing because I believe that is what strong writing should do...
