hopeful forgiveness

about four months ago i hurt a friend... hoping that my actions have inspired lasting forgiveness

as i looked into your eyes

your hateful look intensifies

four months its been so

yesterday i let you know

i never wanted to hurt you

i wanted our friendship to be true

this love that between him and i grew

our bond away with the wind blew

i came up and apologized

i hope you realized

my heart aches for the past

a friendship with you that would last

i pray now we start anew

a hug in the hall gives me hope its true

you didn't seem angry

and that set my heart free

please don't let the past between you and me

i miss the joy we had together

i miss the way we used to laugh

i miss the whispers light as a feather

I know how you felt with this. My best friend and I got into a pretty serious fight in the seventh grade where we weren't friends for most of that year, and it was awful.

"please don't let the past between you and me" I like how the finality of this particular line not only suffocates a last plea and leaves any hope of It all stranded, but at the same time welps a foresighted sense of already knowing you are forgiven, and effectively showing readers, the reason for such mercy Is built on a foundation soo close and secret, that the effort has to truly be a genuine representation because your emotional relationship was never this *LOUD* before... mark of you trying, is exhibited as you go on to say, that even when you had joy together, laughed together and whispered, It was a heavy bond, an obscene prayer!, of two hands which maybe forgot for a moment the tonality and barely- there language was already always "light as a feather"
