Spider Lily

Spider Lily

A Poem by poetic swan

A spider lily bows its head,

as if to hush a whispered dread.
Its petals drip with gentle rain,
like tears that fall from skies of pain.

The creaking gate swings on its own,
and whispers names long left unknown.
A crow calls out across the field,
yet silence is the only yield.

The lily shivers in the breeze,
as if it shares my memories.
Its fragile fingers, stained with red,
reach out to touch what’s left unsaid.

To give poetic justice to the spider lily, with such lament as "fragile fingers", utters such an eloquence to nature that we so often overlook. You couldn't have written it any more beautiful than it is!

Nice form. Tight stanzas. I get a sense that all is gothic and dark in your poem. Probably a massive understatement, but I really like how you weave everything together well. Good work!

the Spider Lilly reminds you of pain, sad memories…… “It’s petals drip with gentle rain like tears that fall from skies of pain”…… the silence of death pervades…unsaid memories haunt this scene that is so beautifully written…

Hiii Poetic Swann!!!

Something about connection with nature. How it can make us feel less alone when no one is around.

This poem touched me because I feel its true "the lily shivers in the breeze, as if it shares my memories." Well said

Thanks for sharing.
