speaking of metaphors...this really "cooks"----pun intended.
love the title and how you bookend this poem by having it as a last line...
"grimacing"---one of my favorite words in the English language...
sometimes our thoughts just won't come to a boil, no matter how high we turn on the heat...the words won't come...yours do...nicely hear and come out tender and tasty.
Always good to step out of our comfort zone. you did and your writing is still impressive… burning the brain with too many thoughts, yes been there, still do that.
Maybe I shouldn't have smiled at the tone of your poem, but its clever use of language is light and imaginative. Of course we need recall and focus but most of all we need a scribble pad or a memory with a great filing system!
So enjoyed your words; will take them happy into my dreams. Thank you so much for sharing!

Wow.
.glad could provide you something to dream of.,.hah...thank you so much Emma :)
This is all based in time. Time is a difficult thing to permeate really. But when you go inside so to speak time is de - phased. We can't run away from the thing in us as something "cooks" we weaken as soemthing develops in this case within. Is it inside my head? I assume it to be connected to my brain the slwo simmering continues taking over deep beneath the me observing I look then through my eyes trying not to get caught in the well cooked lies.
kinda weird Sophy, so its great!! I love weird, you cooked up a storm of words and boiled them into a poem, i bet those noodles taste great, well written :)

Wohooo.. thank you so much Richie :) i am thrilled you enjoyed
Sometimes you need to think about a problem for a while to decide the best way to solve it. If a good phrase is jumping around in your brain, never throw it away. Write it down. There will come a time you will be able to use it in a poem. Good metaphor here, Sophy. I enjoyed this one. Lydi**
