Cave in

Cave in

A Poem by Soren

Timber creaks, dust falls

The mine speaks, destiny calls

A tremor, can't tell, me or the ground

Glimmer of hell, Oh God what a sound

A rifle shot, the roll of thunder

Suddenly caught, from a blunder down under

A door locks, too black for clues

Teeth of rocks, grinds and chews

Beams split, a gagging plume

Boulders hit, rumbling doom

The mouth closes, its throat swallows

Hope dozes, panic follows

Now in the gut of the beast

Air is cut, all noise ceased

All is dark, so black

Angels won't hark, no coming back

Such fearful drama here: spine shuddering, ears aching, eyes shut tight, nose choking on the rage of the all around. Reminds me of the collapse of Portland stone quarries or the once collapse of coal pits
enveloping their surroundings. Dark hell. Finely written, words laid so close to each other as if implosion and more.

Your poem deserves e very word and more. Take care, keep safe.
Plenty of visuals here and a feeling of claustrophobia. Reminds me so much of the accidents in coal mines in the past. You took me back in time Soren. Choking coal dust and the blackness. Well penned.
