A baited trap of flowers

A baited trap of flowers

A Poem by Soren

When I offered a bed of roses

I didn't mention the thorns

So now as my love dozes

comes the devil with his horns

Love has a bleeding heart

Angel trumpets intoxicating sleep

Forget me not, do not depart

Kiss me over the garden gate, if you wish me to keep

This is a cool writing.
She picked an apple from the tree and found out his true intent was evil.
The serpent sprung like a worm in that apple...and all her new wisdom could not stop the bleeding from the thorns.
Nicely done here.

Thank you Chris so appreciate the review. Yes I know I left the second stanza purposely enigmatic for anyone wishing to dig in this garden.

Interesting where you went with this Soren.

Chris
A short two stanza poem. The first stanza came across powerfully. All roses have their thorns. The title is well chosen. Nicely penned Soren.
