Stolen fire

Stolen fire

A Poem by Soren

A heartless man

fire built of borrowed fuel

my pleasure burned bright

with other's light

Pieces of broken trust

stolen dreams

flame of false warmth

becoming only smoke

A powerful poem, dear Soren. A fire built from another's fuel can never be truly comforting. Another's light can never provide that bliss and clarity. On the other hand, it can lead to much devastation. I especially love the phrase, 'stolen dreams' here. It speaks to me of sadness, sorrow and loss. Of things that could have been yet couldn't be, just because someone was selfish. I enjoyed this poem, so much.
