The rusty nail

The rusty nail

A Poem by Soren

An old nail driven long ago
into solid wood
once strong with a glow
rains of corrosion it's withstood

Rusted and bent
at birth shiny
Its usefulness spent
blistered rough, shrunken tiny

It held a house in place
Some torn by its protrusion
In age found a disgrace
Holding things together by intrusion

Worn fragile its head
It you can not yank
Hammered down till dead
Burried in a hardened plank

am I this nail? held together by intrusion...
I have eroded but am still holding on...
the rust has not stopped me yet.
Maybe a little WD40 would be welcomed.

Yes, I understand this concept very much.
a great metaphor, which is not only about a rusty nail…. over time that helped to build a house, not decrepit, worn, just liked those who came and wen, intruders, and all others, some of disgrace that had passed through or lived in this house…. the fact is the rusty nail is still there…” Buried in a hardened plank” and still holding the house erect…. a house full of mixed emotions thst me live on eternally……
nice write Soren

Thank you Franky for the review and most kind words they are deeply valued
Wow! What excellent use of metaphor in every line of this sublimely penned poem. I wonder if we are not all nails in the timber of life, Soren? I love how you depict the different stages of life and the changes within each stage. Sublime inking! Thank you for sharing, Soren...
