Fear

Fear

A Poem by Soren

Eyes watching from the unseen
Premonition of a pain smell
naked, homeless, without screen
every sound a death bell's knell
Bug prickles across the flesh
Pieces of glass under the skin
electrical charges, muscles contract and mesh
pulled into a fetal circle for past sin

"Eyes watching from the unseen" is my favorite line. But the last line is what speaks to me. Because at times the sins of the past came back for us later in time. Almost trapping us in a circle. Overall it's a excellent poem.

Once I had panic attacks. It is hell to feel helpless and alone. Your words told us of waiting for the last stop. Could be death? Struggle, disappointment and loneliness. A deadly place to be and to know Soren. The poetry direct, honest and sad. Thank you my friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thanks again for the read and comment it means a great deal and is most encouraging
a very gnarly piece of writing, in your signature esoteric style, the reader is pulled into the current of the River Styx. while this lacks narrative, the scatterred images of the underworld creeps under your skin. a work akin to Dante, this was a jet black composition.

Thank you so much for your read and most accurate interpretation. It is deeply appreciated.
I can almost taste the fear as I read this very insightful write on fear. Unseen eyes watching and a sense of being openly exposed for past sins, as the anxiety mounts. Prickles under the skin like shards of glass, static electricity makes one curl up into the fetal pose. An electrifying write which gave me prickles as I read! We choose what we will do, we have free will to do that, but we are responsible for the choices we make. Being a human being life in the human world is never easy but it is my belief that everything we experience we have chosen to experience and that there is no hell in our lifetime or after it. We truly don't learn from the good experiences in life, it is the not so good ones which teach us the most and that is the purpose of experiencing them. I don't believe in sin either. I see everything as an experience, a life lesson to teach us. The choice is ours to dwell negatively on the not so good experiences or walk away from them with hope of having learned whatever it was we were supposed to learn so we can move on to new and happier experiences. The happy experiences are like little treats which come our way for the hard experiences endured and learned from. Wonderful haunting write, dear Soren! Thank you for sharing, dear friend...

Most welcome always, dear Soren. Thank you for your kind words...
I like the parallel between being punished for sin and being homeless and all of the dangers faced with that...
always a hell around the next bend or next corner.

And I do believe we have hell on earth....we pay for our transgressions...and we need to accept what we get.
