Is it a sin to bend what is true to keep someone from being blue?

Is it bad to lie if truth will make a person cry?

Is it a crime to lie if with the truth another would die?

Is it taboo for someone with a word untrue to protect you?

To avoid things more vile even God would smile at such kind guile
