Thunder from the throne

Thunder from the throne

A Poem by Soren

They knocked down the pearly gates to put in a tole way
The poor it negates, only those that can pay are welcome to stay
Heaven had a revolution, they elected a new God
They drafted a new constitution, to give democracy a nod

Equal opportunity for damned souls, move them to the front of the line
Expanding heaven's borders a new God extols,  violators of tariffs he'll fine
They are tearing up the clouds to put in a parking lot
Asphalt enshrouds every historical rainbowed spot

Hell on the other hand has air conditioning
Here no one is banned no auditioning
Free internet with no ads naked girls and lads, every one's got a hot spot
Lots of beer we'll party all year letting heaven rot

I enjoyed the humour here. You have to laugh in this ever mad world of ours. It is a coping strategy. Yep, hell is looking much better these days. Have a great week Soren.

Thanks Chris I appreciate your encouragement and kind words.
I've been enduring a heat wave for the last week. Hell doesn't sound half bad.

Thanks John for the read and kind words that are always supportive and so appreciated
as someone critical of the modern states of both america and christianity, this resonates deeply, and the tone switch twinge of comedy at the end ties it all together brilliantly, while mirroring the absurdity of our world right now. bravo. let's let heaven rot together, friend!
