Weak or strong

A poem, a peculiar thing with strength it must sing beauty to bestow

A balance no, more strong words than weak it needs to grow

Salted, spiced the reader enticed to taste of its broth

Word threads, weaving a fabric, embeds patterns in a poem's cloth

Some thin and weak, love, purity, good, never, one should not speak, all considered frail

Overused abused, to be left in the worn out pail

Others strong of deeper color. discarding those that are duller

Words of flesh, blood, mud, stone, dust, rust, fire, bone be a Culler

Meter too one must pursue, footsteps that guide the way

Stitches in the cloth, vegetables in the broth, a beat to obey

Emotion wrapped in metaphor, meaning giving something more

But greater than all else touching the reader to the core
