Forest fig

Forest fig

A Poem by Soren

Born free, a wild tree with rambling shallow roots
that roamed the ground and found a home with nature's brutes
'Or earth you crawled, through rocks sprawled, sending out tender chutes
With wind you sinned, where'er you'd been, putting out new fruits

The fruits you drop become a new crop, your wood grown hard and dry
When you were small you dreamed to be tall, you wished to reach up high
Now in breezes you shake, brittle you break through winds I hear your cry
As smoke the clouds will be your shrouds, as you reach the sky

Quietly powerful. It stays with you, like the rustle of leaves after the wind has passed.
