An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind

A Poem by Soren

Long before Christ forgiveness began in the simple heart of a woman or man
Vengeance an anchor to the past holds the race in place where it is cast
Defense, guardian of the present, revenge's phoenix raises from a past unpleasant
Forgiving past thieves of honey the bee devotes energy to protect its nest in the tree
The hive never closes its door inside every bee equal there are no poor
From war man will never be free until we learn to be more like the bee

Woah! The title really caught my eye, but the poem itself hit even harder. The way you tied forgiveness to something natural and instinctive, like the bee, was so powerful. That idea that peace comes when we let go of revenge stuck with me. It’s simple but powerful.
I very much enjoyed reading this.

PERHAPS that bee thinks as I do, if war is such a good ideal, why didn't it work the first time?

Your bee knows more than Mankind, Soren. Retain dignity and ability - then go from one place to another and pray to find the same in others.
