Nothing anymore

Nothing anymore

A Poem by Soren

We probe an empty shell that has no smell, a leaf that has dried
A pillar that fell, a dry well, all to see what lays inside
A fragment of bone, fossil in stone, coral left by the tide
A pottery shard, a papyrus discard meaning implied
Words of the dead, wisdom once said, while others the truth denied
Echoes of the past, prints that last, old memories that have died
What was before is nothing anymore, in dead myth they hide

Are old forgotten treasures worth keeping… what do they really mean to us; many are in disrepair…and empty shells: I guess they are some reminders of our past; but mostly they are worth nothing …. Nice write, thanks for sharing😊

Thank you so much Thomas it is appreciated
I really like this poem... it feels deep and a bit haunting. The way you describe old, forgotten things makes me picture them so clearly, and it gives a sense of mystery about the past. It’s thoughtful, but also emotional, like you’re really feeling the weight of what’s been lost. Fine work here.
Thanks for sharing.

A beautifully crafted piece—evocative, rhythmic, and thoughtful. It explores forgotten truths and decayed memories with poetic precision.
