Spill one's gutsA Poem by Soren
But 'tis from madness that springs the truth
From budding youth till long in the tooth From water, flame, smoke, clouds above Come slaughter, shame awoke, shrouds of love The poet tastes both bitter and sweet Poison the elixir of life does meet A twisted tongue drooling drops of rhyme Allegories painted on the edge of time A reflection borrowed, a shadow stolen Metaphor pregnant bursts from belly swollen Blood messages from consonants and vowels Opened and turned inside out, a poet's bowels © 2025 Soren |
