Lost music of the forest

Lost music of the forest

A Poem by Soren

Don't believe in spirits, angels, gods or ghosts, but won't deny what I see or hear
I perceive that near it a tree nods, heavenly hosts singing so clearly in my ear
Walking toward it the sound diminished, fading off into only creaking trees
What had soared I found finished, evading fervent seeking, a harmonious tease in the breeze

If not the forest in a chorus, what could be this hymn so fervently sung
Only open field before us, but would a limb sing with heavenly tongue
Once again returned to the spot, where I had heard refrain before
And then discerned a note caught, in air its sad word again did soar

This poem beautifully captures the tension between skepticism and wonder. The elusive music of the forest feels both fleeting and sacred, leaving a haunting sense of awe in its wake.

Ah trees have a life and language of their own. I can imagine standing in that forest and listening to that wonderful chorus. Dead trees make me melancholy. This is beautiful poetry Soren. Food for the mind. Have a great day.
