Some day

Some day

A Poem by Soren

There will come a day when the light goes out
When the waves stop and there is no wind
A time when the stars stop shining
No moon to light the night

There will come a time when love stops burning
When passion turns to ash and grows cold
A time when attraction tastes of salt and numbness
And the powder of red rust becomes food

Then memories will unravel weaving new cloth
From old threads new visions
A maiden of gold now lead
A man of steel now toilet paper

Hi Soren. Your imagery beautifully bridges the cosmic and the mundane. The poem reads like an elegy for both passion and permanence -- everything sacred made ordinary with time.
