Perfume of war

Perfume of war

A Poem by Soren

Dog eating a dead cat
Hog carcasse engorges rat
Savor the taste
Flavor of waste
Flies drone over bone and meat
Be sure to weigh the ones you eat
Breathe in the dripping stench
Vulture clouds, shadows blocking sun, fall in a drench
Shroud becomes a revenant's shawl
Perfume of a dead rose covers all

A dark poem about decay and rotting of life here my WC friend...

You bring the detritus of life alive here.....

Thanks for sharing this intriguing poem...

Thank you so much for the read and comment it is deeply appreciated.
The poem’s stark imagery captures how war feeds on itself--turning decay into a kind of grotesque beauty. “Perfume of a dead rose” perfectly evokes how destruction is masked by false nobility.
