Done

Done

A Poem by Soren

A generalist in a world of specialists, smoke and ashes from a fire burnt
A sediment of a transcendentalist, stung by lashes from past desire learnt
Pages turned obsolete, once grass now concrete, a candle a LED light
Period at the end of a phrase, sunset at the end of days, falling curtain of night
No time to tend to a dying friend, wrap them up in a cardboard box and bow
Plastic flowers, water saving showers, eating fast food when always on the go
Freedoms lost, too much exhaust, leaders with flocks of too many sheeple
A techno god lives in an ear pod, subliminal messages to the people

There’s a sharp, almost restless energy in this piece. It captures that tension between the old and the new, the human and the technological, with a kind of bitter clarity. I like how the imagery jumps from intimate loss to societal critique, making it feel both personal and expansive.
