Rain

Rain

A Poem by Soren

Embraced by the storm, held in the arms of rain
Clouded walls warm, secure and guard my domain
Its darkness shelters my fragile shell
With blanketing fog that conceals so well
Wrapped in rolling velvet mist
By a sleepy safe place, nature kissed
Falling dozing droplets sing a lullaby
Day's fires quenched, dark ash past fears nullify

The imagery is immersive. The rain wrapping around you like a velvet cloak, quieting the world and holding everything in gentle suspension. There’s something wonderfully tender about how the storm becomes both shield and lullaby, protecting fragility while letting it breathe. A very serene, comforting read.

Soren, this is beautifully written. The rhythm and rhyme create such a calm, lulling effect, like the poem itself is part of the storm’s lullaby. I love the image of “rolling velvet mist” and how the rain becomes both comforter and protector. It captures that feeling of safety within nature’s chaos so well..gentle, introspective, and serene.
