Boogie

Boogie

A Poem by Soren

A Samba lives in my feet, Tango in my heart
A Waltz follows me down the street, West Coast Swing gives me a start
There is Salsa in my hair, Jive shuffles my shoes
A Cha cha in my staggered stare,  A Bossa Nova sings the blues
Got a Merengue in my butt, Cumbia drinks tequila at night
Flamenco in my strut, Passa Doble for a fight
Ballet wears tight pants, Disco painted in glitter
Milonga for romance, Mambo a great baby sitter
Belly dance is on the pill, Reggaeton a Jamaican treat
Lombada danced in bed while you're Krumping your sweet
Oh there is more behind the door, and some on tap
Fox trot across the floor, so hard to Hip hop to rap

Soren,

This poem is a full-on ballroom of the mind. I can practically hear the samba in my sneakers and feel the Tango tugging at my ribs. Each line spins you into a different rhythm, a chaotic yet perfectly orchestrated dance of motion and mood. It’s absurd, joyous, and impossibly alive- like the universe itself decided to boogie.

This poem bursts with joy and motion. Every line pulses with rhythm, from playful absurdities to intimate beats, making the body move before the mind catches up. It’s a celebration of energy, humor, and the irrepressible heartbeat of life.
