Within

A Poem by Soren

God is in the rain, liquid tears of joy and pain
God is in the air, an open gift that all do share
God is fire, scouring, sacred purifier
God is the earth, cradle of our birth
Giver of life and taker as well, casting over all his spell
Quenching thirst, drowning by flood, ruler over dust and mud
He breathes the gentle breath of life, fills us with peace quelling strife
Blows with power of destruction, clearing a place for reproduction
She purifies and consumes from crumbling tombs to birthing wombs
From under her shawl her breast nourishes large and small
Then with a banshee call, her shadow hand buries all

Line 7, did you mean "breathes"?
I read it that way.
This makes me think of Alanis Morisette in Dogma.
Yes, I do believe God could and should be female...God is forgiving and nurturing...She is.
