Falling apart

Falling apart

A Poem by Soren

Of a core concealed, now stripped and revealed so little remains
Bits and scraps into twilight collapse, as night nothing contains
Peeled away in layers of decay, petals fall from the flower
With sun's crawl, remove a shawl  shadow's won't stop the hour
A coat dropped, a bubble popped, a crust taken away
Shaving scales from eyes to see morning skies, awakened to a new day

For me this poem describes the feeling of being naked and raw... It makes me want to hide in a blanket. Kind of makes me think of the moment when Adam and Eve realizes they are naked in God's presence and quickly grabs leaves to hide their nakedness. That kind of vulnerability is terrifying..And yet, offering that naked truth to someone is an act of deep trust. Sharing this vulnerability with someone would be scary for me. But if I trusted them, I can only hope they take care of it and don't use it as a weapon against me. That would hurt. It takes great courage to be vulnerable and share a very intimate part of us and my only hope would be; to not to regret it haha. I like the ending.. because it feels like a release.. a breath that was being held, now breathes freely in a new day
