Eternal

Eternal

A Poem by Soren

I thought that we would be forever but time grew between us and closed the door
Now I look through fogged windows of memory and what was is no more
Shadows grow on the wall where once sun's brightness fell
A fairytale candle burnt out and small as the wisdom of age broke its spell
Night brings childhood dreams to a grey capped sleepy head
A whisper it seems from darkness wed said put out the light, go to bed
I close my eyes to star filled skies and slowly drift to sleep
Daytime lies become lullabies as shadows through eyelids seep

Where once there was light and dreamy skies, now there are shadows and foggy windows...the candle has burned out, but love is eternal and memories shall hold tight near your heart....dreams and withstand the emptiness ...."Daytime lies become lullabies"... I believe this is true ; if only we could dream on....
Love this Soren...it's magical, sad and deep within...

Eternal love, I believe in it. It’s precious and it’s rare, but it exists for some. Sadly for many it’s pie in the sky. Beautiful, poignant poetry Soren. The sadness lingers in your lines.
