Sloth of the present

Sloth of the present

A Poem by Soren

The bone of laziness has grown and even it is arthritic
Exuberance flown, energy turned stone, breath paralytic
Feet to floor sewn eyelids under weight groan vision granitic
In a bed outgrown all work postpone deaf to any critic

I'm more the type to overdo and then suffer being stove up a few days after. My mind thinks I'm thirty-five but my body protests I'm at least twice that. But rest is good in its place and we all deserve a little down time when the world gets too demanding. An interesting and descriptive evocation.

Sounds like being rooted to the ground, unable to find the enthusiasm or energy to move forward. Nothing will shift someone in this mood, maybe a stick of dynamite. Once or twice I have been there but I always got myself to work. Plenty don’t.
