After the fact

After the fact

A Poem by Soren

Watering grass in the rain, feeding an inferno with matches
With a dirty blotter removing an ink stain, on a sunken boat battening down the hatches
Thieves have left, install an alarm, sun risen it can't be held back
Gun fired now disarm, raise the dead following attack
On the rope of time with both ends fixed how do you unknot a snarl
One stands betwixt yesterday and morrow's coming parl

What’s done is done. Too late to alter the situation. That’s where your words took me Soren. Like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. The damage is done. Have a happy Monday.

Thanks Thomas I appreciate it
Soren, you truly have a special way of constructing words from mere letters into fine poetry! Your poem is a near perfect canvas - it's not only visual but highly colourful,

' Watering grass in the rain, feeding an inferno with matches. With a dirty blotter removing an ink stain, on a sunken boat battening down the hatches '
