Distant Admiration

Distant Admiration

A Poem by Soulii
"

True friend or wake of something parasocial?

"
I won't wait for naught to come,

but I can't sit here--pretend to say it isn't difficult.

Such knots we once tied in a world which was inhabited, so densely

By pliers

Threatening to separate.

And when they did, you had not seemed, once

To look behind.

You aimed to leave me in the realm of "whyworry" when you know

why I worried in the first place.

The person you became grew wings and flew away

Far to some place you knew I could not reach.

And in your so-called assumptions

I would make it out untouched, similarly to yourself in your golden state upon a platinum throne

I was clipped of my own wings

And I stare in distant admiration of your ascent.
