Stop for a second and look to the sky, my darling

The crystalline stars burn so bright for you

They speak the words I never could

They sing the song in your heart,

The one we wrote together

Stop for a second and take a breath, my darling

This life is not a fight

You chase the finish line of a race you run alone

Don't leave me behind in the dust

Stop for a second and close your eyes, my darling

Let the promises we whispered echo

In the depths of your soul

And we'll pretend our hearts didn't drown

Trying to swim the oceans that separate us.

This is for those of us that tend to forget the simplicity of the things that make us happy.

I let this one stay displayed a while... would pause and listen...return after a lil bit and again pause and listen... and again. The inner voice reflects on life as I walk away... and the thoughts follow a path where footsteps aren't always as evidenced. I almost - almost wrote one here... still might if I come back.

What marks us as a person
is the way we ...touch and are touched
in even a breath, a moment's pause,
a single glance
...and in the understanding we find
as the fingertips of another
so gently scrawl their dreams
within our hearts...

Wow, that's amazing. I see how you've incorporated "breath", "pause" and "glance" here, like I've used in my poem. The words are deep and its means so much more than just those few lines let on.
I envy how quickly you can come up with something so strong.

It's being real...not coming up with a thing... We don't work at our "thoughts" - we just do our best to share and express them.

The skill lies within expressing our thoughts to make them seem like art, something you manage to do effortlessly!

Seem? chuckling softly here... we - you and I - ARE Poets... it IS who we are and how we are... and the way we see OUR world and all within. It's our breath - the heartbeat - the ...I preached enough - sorry.

Oh, I'm far from a poet. I'm just a kid who's outlet is to write about my overflowing feelings to prevent me from choking on them.. And so I try to make my words 'seem' like art :)
I hope to feel as intensely as you do one day though and with those inspiring words, it'll happen sooner than later!

There IS a beauty and majesty
a whole world to wonder and wander
fingertips to touch and reach for and hold
eyes to look into
and breaths to be held so tight inside
as we shake with the intensity of just
...life.

And then comes ...tomorrow
and tomorrow
and tomorrow...
and each today was but another dream
now lost.
