Journey To The EastA Story by Steve PaschallOn My first Trip To FriscoIt was February. I had left Virginia for San Francisco in the midst of the worst ice storms I had ever seen. Now, it's 70 degrees and I'm kind of ecstatic about that. One day as I approached the corner of Haight and Clayton, there was a 3 or 4 foot pile of crushed ice only it was crushed so fine that I could make a snowball. First, I hit the next windshield that came down the street. The driver wasn't amused but I just had to throw another snowball. As I was firming up the snowball, a woman I was attracted to walked by with a short, balding, long haired professor looking cat wearing John Lennon glasses and army fatigues. Once they got past a ways, I let my snowball fly and hit him square in his back. Right in the center of the peace sign on the back of his army jacket.
I stood still, just a little scared waiting to see what the repercussions would be.
He turned slowly, looked me square in the eye, raised his right arm,
and flashed me the Peace Sign.
I named him the "Mad Peace Keeper." © 2011 Steve Paschall |
