Anything that controls your thoughts and actions when you know that you are on a negative path is an addiction. This is often the case when you are attempting to justify politically unreasonable actions.

This is clearly the case with liberal stances in the last few decades. Prioritizing green agendas over the benefits of strategies to improve the general well-being of humanity not only defeats the purpose of having a green agenda but also devalues humanity itself.

California mainstream politics is an excellent example of self-serving righteousness (in itself, an addiction). The extreme left loves individual causes but despises humanity as a whole because it is the reason for all the injustice in the world. Individual humans are to be saved from their own humanity " i.e., protected from themselves because being human, they can help themselves. Sounds like double talk " it is.

I am reminded of the scene in the movie Blazing Saddles where the new sheriff in an old western town is going to be lynched because he is black. He holds a gun to his own head and says, “Anyone moves and I shoot the black guy!” It worked in the movie, but in real life, not so much.

The ceremonial self-flagellation of the far left is purely for show and not only painless for the wild-eyed activist but does nothing to help the objects of liberal pity. What historically happens is that the “issue” being fought must be preserved to give the elitists a reason to consider themselves superior to everyone else. Self-destruction seems to be the only path to the left’s nirvana of the appearance of the admission of personal guilt for all the sins of humanity.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, we are included in the righteous destruction of the horrendous opposition. There can be no quarter given to any member of this vile segment of the population. No attack is too violent or vicious, and no prisoners can be taken. This whole group must be wiped out mercilessly. It, after all, is for their own good.

How does such a viewpoint stay in existence? Shouldn’t it consume itself like a snake eating its own tail?

Like most addictions, the addict will find a way to survive, if only to be able to continue to receive the jolt that their addiction provides. While maintaining their own well-being, the guilt junkies will drain the resources of the society in which they live to feed their habit. Even the objects of their selfless efforts suffer deprivation of all kinds due to their help.

In the end, the most tragic fate of the left is to understand what the Moody Blues sang: “All the love you’ve been giving has all been meant for you.”
