FADING SMILEA Poem by SAYED THANGALSmiles, smiles.........but not every dayLying up on her lap Once I smiled to her. Eager she was to see me grow Grow in to healthy manhood. Lifted her hands to support Till I stood firm , but time passed, Turned my face side ways A distance I keep today from her. Totally she is forgotten Enjoy the world glittering around The wastes up on her face thrown Still a fading smile on her lips. The more I grow, the more cruel I become Deeper the wound I make, bleeds No longer , I know , she would bear, I hear, with deaf ear, her appeal Still, a fading smile on her face. sayed thangal
