RunAway

RunAway

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

The path is dark with day

A part of me yearns to run--far away

The shadows remind me I'm human

Stuck inside the concrete blocks beneath my feet

I want to call out for help

I want to scream to the emptiness

My words are locked away inside a box

Below a beach of sand and rocks

I don't see you there beside me

If you were, who would you be?

I am blind atop this boulder

With no one at my shoulder

To help me see

a known turnmoil of hope, doubts, void and loneliness...you have wonderfully descirbed this known yet abstract feeling...the emptiness and lonliness that fills our heart somtimes overpower all the strength that we have and self-belief and hope seems to be cornered by self-doubts...
excellent piece!
