Starting a business is not simple. Say for example you want to start selling pool covers; you can’t expect people to go buying your products just by putting up a pool covers for sale sign. There are a lot of preparations to be done and so many factors that need to be considered.

Here are 10 preliminary steps to accomplish in starting a business:

1.Thoroughly plan and research your desired business. This initial assessment will determine whether your business is feasible or not. If it is then proceed to the next steps. If it is not, start thinking how you can change or reinvent your plan to make it feasible.

2.Learn. Expand your knowledge about how to start a business. Look for and participate in trainings or seminars that tackle this. You may even gain contacts who may assist you in your endeavor.

3.Find a good location. The location of your business is very important. This alone can make or break your business.

4.Naturally, you will need funds to start your business. Look for loans or investors who will help you out.

5.Decide on what legal structure you want for your business: sole proprietorship, partnership, LLC, corporation, non-profit or cooperative, all these have their own advantages and disadvantages. Determine which will suit your needs most.

6.Register your business name. It should be unique, catchy, and reflective of your business.

7.Get a tax identification number for your business from internal revenues.

8.Register your tax number in the state or locality of the business. Be sure to pay your taxes. You would not want any unnecessary run in with the law. This could scar your reputation.

9.Obtain all necessary licenses and permits. It is absolutely necessary that everything about your business is legal and permitted.

10.Do your responsibilities as an employer. Process all legal steps necessary for hiring employees.

Stacey Cole inherited this pool covers for sale business from her parents and has been running it ever since. When she was young, her parents inducted her into a secret society of pool cover salesmen and women. She quickly rose to the heights of being the PRIME RULER OF ALL, and dispensed King Solomon-like wisdom from her throne of tarpaulin.
Her favourite aspect of selling pool covers is the fact that, after a hard day selling pool covers, you can go into your pool. Unless it's covered! Oh no, you wish you sold pool UNcovers now!

Stacy always follows her own advice. To whit:
1.Thoroughly plan and research your desired business. This initial assessment will determine whether your business is feasible or not. If it is then proceed to the next steps. If it is not, start thinking how you can change or reinvent your plan to make it feasible.
Stacy planned by reading her own blogs. She accomplished this using a time machine.

2.Learn. Expand your knowledge about how to start a business. Look for and participate in trainings or seminars that tackle this. You may even gain contacts who may assist you in your endeavor.
She talked to her parents, who ran the business. In fact, she supped mightily on their brains and learned all their secrets through BIOLOGICAL ZOMBIE-ISM.

3.Find a good location. The location of your business is very important. This alone can make or break your business.
She went to a place with lots of pools. She's a smart cooky.

4.Naturally, you will need funds to start your business. Look for loans or investors who will help you out.
She robbed a bank.

5.Decide on what legal structure you want for your business: sole proprietorship, partnership, LLC, corporation, non-profit or cooperative, all these have their own advantages and disadvantages. Determine which will suit your needs most.
This was a hard decision so she threw some dice.

6.Register your business name. It should be unique, catchy, and reflective of your business.
She chose "STACEY COLE: SUPERFOX". Catchy.

7.Get a tax identification number for your business from internal revenues.
This bit was boring so she made a fireman do it.

8.Register your tax number in the state or locality of the business. Be sure to pay your taxes. You would not want any unnecessary run in with the law. This could scar your reputation.
Stacey likes scars. She thought, 'to hell with it', and just let her reputation look all fought-up and sexy.

9.Obtain all necessary licenses and permits. It is absolutely necessary that everything about your business is legal and permitted.
Stacey hired some muscle to keep the Feds offa her back.

10.Do your responsibilities as an employer. Process all legal steps necessary for hiring employees.
By hiring robots (from the future, see 1.) Stacey has avoided all problems to do with 'wages' or 'rights'.
