why does time go on when loved ones die

I dont understand

why the earth has not

stood still

the day your heart stopped

is when time should have

ceased to exist

but no 

people live, people laugh

people fight, people b***h

the ferris wheel keeps turning

but not for me

each day the date changes

hours go by

but for me on

at 4:02am

This gave me shivers. I can totally relate. I remember on the evening my brother died (4th October 2009) I had to go to the shop with my mom and everyone was so normal going about their usual day and I just wanted to scream at them. Beautiful piece you can tell it's straight from he heart. I loved it.

A poem that anyone whom has lost someone can relate to, yet extremely personal, which actually makes it more moving, and full of emotion-specifically at the end when the date/time are mentioned. I love how it reflects on that awareness when that loss is so raw, and everything seems so hard to comprehend "people live, people laugh, people fight, people b***h" I love that suggestion of how everything continually moves, and yet is completely frozen because of the loss. That's so hard to put in words that could even justify the feeling- great piece!
