Midnight Room

Midnight Room

A Poem by Starla

i was thinking there must be something in the air

a wasted silence a hidden glare

time spoke so fast i caught the leftovers in my zzz’s

trying hard to fight mind-mental-disease

you won’t catch me watching tv much these days

there is always something glowing, something in the way

till i fall exhausted in the midnight gloom

time to come out and shake up the room

pitter-patter your feet cross my heart

i watch the shadows flaunt sex in the dark

open my mouth wide and let you in

this is my life, i like to think it’s a sin

i enjoy the taste you leave after you are long gone

it lasts with me like a dead girls song

beating the drum one last time before doom

my eyes open to see it’s really just you.
